Troubleshooting FAQs
The LOCKOUT light is glowing red on my device.
Should the LOCKOUT indicator illuminate, your vehicle will temporarily cease operation due to an excess of failed attempts or aborts. This brief lockout period typically lasts between 2 to 5 minutes. Once the message is cleared from your device, you’ll regain the ability to retest.
Both SERVICE and LOCKOUT lights are glowing on my device.
If the SERVICE and LOCKOUT lights are both illuminated without flashing, your vehicle will be in a state of permanent lockout, rendering it inoperable. During a permanent lockout, testing is not possible. Please contact us urgently; certain states permit an override code for transporting your vehicle to a service center without requiring a tow. In other states, towing your vehicle to a service center is necessary for a reset. Regardless of the state, prompt servicing of the device is essential to prevent any violations.
Both SERVICE and LOCKOUT lights are flashing on my device.
Should you exceed your scheduled program monitoring or find yourself in early recall, both the LOCKOUT and SERVICE lights will flash. The number of flashes indicates the remaining days before the device enters permanent lockout. Please contact us promptly to arrange an appointment for servicing and monitoring.
The WAIT light is staying on for a long time.
In cold weather conditions, the WAIT light may remain illuminated for an extended duration. The unit will stay in the WAIT mode until it reaches the appropriate operating temperature. Consider discussing with your technician during your next service appointment the possibility of setting a warm-up time on your device to minimize your ‘WAIT’ time.
The POWER light keeps flashing and will not allow me to take test.
A flashing POWER light signals a weak battery or low voltage in your vehicle.
The ABORT light is on after I breathe into the device.
The ABORT light illuminates when an incorrect breath test is conducted. This occurs when the device does not receive the required amount of air pressure and/or the necessary hum tone. It’s important to note that this is not considered a fail. You will be able to retest shortly. Stay calm, take a deep breath, and retry when prompted.
